Seller note:

This graceful round-sided Northeaster Dory was hand built by Community High School of Vermont (Link to http://www.doc.state.vt.us/programs/educational-programs) students with help from The Lake Champlain Maritime Museum (Link to http://www.lcmm.org) and donated to The Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center for their diligent efforts in providing community lake access. It was built using the Chesapeake Light Craft's patented LapStitch process, in which pre-cut planking is assembled with copper wire stitches, and the structure is further reinforced with epoxy and fiberglass. Once the primary recreational craft on the New England coast, they have a 19th-century appearance, but 21st-century weight and durability. The hull is light---only about 100 pounds---and very strong. And with 800 lbs. of displacement, this dory offers real versatility. While the narrow waterline results in a fast hull under sail, the flared topsides provide ample reserve stability. And like all dories, they track well, have a long glide, stay dry in waves, and provide comfortable seating for four adults.
